As you may already know from my recent post, Tom celebrated his birthday this week! As one of my gifts to him I decided to be quirky and transform a pocket organiser… Man style!
Tom is very often laughing at me at how dependent I am on my Webster’s pages personal organiser, little does he know just how handy it is! Fair enough I don’t expect to see him suddenly getting an obsession for pretty stickers and post stick notes (although I can’t see why not!) but I think my nifty little creation may have just impressed him slightly…
I purchased the pocket organiser for a bargain price from a seller on eBay, and straight away started purchasing some essentials to fill it up.
From WHSmiths I bought a week to view calendar, a PVC zipped envelope (handy for keeping things safe!) and some notepad paper. Luckily the organsier already came with an address section so that wasn’t needed!
Of course me being me, I wasn’t going to buy ready made dividers, instead I challenged myself to make my own! Knowing Toms’ passion is everything to do with music I found some quirky music patterns and designs, then drew them onto plain white card after cutting out the templates.
I then labelled them, and laminated them to keep them protected and hard wearing.
I then focused on creating the dashboard and filling up the inside of the cover. A popular quote that I have seen written on many planner dividers is ‘Get Shit Done’… what’s a more typical manly phrase than that huh?!
Oh and, Pardon my french!
The inside of the cover has a transparent card pocket so this was the perfect place to tuck in his business cards with one on show to see when opened. I also found some funky quote bubble shaped post stick notes from Tiger Stores and suiting the black and white theme, though they were perfect with a ‘Happy Birthday’ sticker on top!
Along with a gold paperclip for a final touch and a black and white patterned pen tucked in the pen holder (also from Tiger Stores), his planner was complete and ready to be received!
Along with all of his other presents on display, I made sure this gift had some special music notes ribbon wrapped around it to make it stand out as an important present!
For all of you other female planner addicts out there just like myself… It’s official!!…..
…. A Man CAN Plan!
