HELLO, AND WELCOME!
Hi I’m Gemma, an interiors obsessed, DIY doing, self-employed stylist based in Worthing (and regularly commuting!).
With 5 years previous experience in Visual Merchandising for various home retailing stores, I took the plunge and became self-employed in 2015, and haven’t looked back since. I have since gained experience freelancing my way through the creative industries of interior styling, set dressing, prop styling and interior design. I have styled editorial & commercial photoshoots for well-known magazines and companies, been a stylist for various press shows and events, and in 2017 I took on my largest interior design project to date, at Manuka Bar & Kitchen.
Since 2018 I have further branched out to the TV industry working as Design Producer and Art Director for some well-known interiors televisions shows which you can find more about here. It’s safe to say I’ve had my fair share of spontaneity within my career, but trying new things is what constantly thrives me.
I also love to write, which is why I love sharing my journey through my blog. I write about a lot of things but mainly I write about things that lighten up my life. I write about my passions and dreams. I write about my career journey, photoshoots and features. I write about me. When I’m happy, I write. When I’m feeling a bit lost, I write. When I have exciting news, I write. When I want to make others laugh, I write. I write on crumpled up receipts which get lost in the bottom of my bag. I write ideas on beer mats in pubs and tea stained napkins in cafe’s. I write to-do lists on pretty much anything that has a bit of space. And I write on my blog, here at That’s so Gemma.
Join me here and follow me on my creative encounters through life. With friends, family and followers all recognising my true interests, there has always been a repeated expression that I’ve heard people chorus to me… ‘This is so you Gemma! ‘ and ‘ That’s so YOU! ‘…
…And so here I am today, now welcoming you at That’s so Gemma.
