Getting Gem-tastic with Masie’s Craft
I had the absolute delight a few weeks ago of receiving a very exciting email from the lovely Masie at Masie’s Craft, asking me if i’d be interested in getting my craft on with some of her supplies… well, what crafter could possibly resist that offer?!
I was over the moon and eager to start making and creating, so you can imagine how excited I was when I received this parcel full of spectacularly shiny self-adhesive gems, and so much of it! Like a child at Christmas, I ripped open the packaging and was amazed by the assortment of different colours, shapes and sizes!
With all of these glitzy gems of goodness, I couldn’t wait to get stuck in on some crafty action, and with a few handy supplies from Tiger Stores I was on a mission!
I found some plain colourful coasters from Tiger, which I thought would be perfect to jazz up with my supplies from Masie’s Craft.
With my favourite music on loop in the background, a glass of wine, tweezers and a LOT of patience, my coasters went from drab to fab!
With my coasters complete it was time to start my next project, and this one I absolutely loved doing as I got slightly carried away with using a mixture of Masie’s Craft Gems sporadically around the edges of a dull photo frame, giving it a new burst of life and completely changing it’s appearance.
The frame started off looking rather sorry for itself, with some uninteresting silver clasps around the corners that were just asking for some sparkly pals to brighten them up!
I used a variety of different colours and sizes, starting off around the edges, then focusing on the corner details.
It made the frame and the photo of me and T in Sri Lanka look so much more vibrant and eye catchy. I must also add, that for a special handmade present with lots of thought and little cost, these would make such lovely gifts for loved ones!
For my final project I created with my Masie’s Craft supplies, I decided I wanted to spruce up my craft table and use my favourite self adhesive pearl gems to jazz up my storage tins. With three different pearl sizes to choose from, I stuck the largest around the top of the pink tin, then alternatively stuck on medium and small pearls around the top of the turquoise tin. Such a quick and easy project yet it makes so much difference!
Overall I had an absolute blast converting some basic household objects in to beautiful, handmade products. Such a simple, easy and cost effective way to add your own special touch!
All of these projects I have experimented with would make such perfect gifts and presents for friends and family!
