Grow-Your-Own Cress Egg Heads
The perfect Easter craft! Over the past 2 weeks I’ve been rewarded with a satisfying feeling of watching these evolve, that’s why I want to share with you this fun craft on how to grow your own cress egg heads…
There’s no denying we all love a good craft, especially when it’s something to suit the season. Easter weekend is upon us, and I’ve come up with an idea that I think you’re all going to love.
Grow your own cress egg heads
When dipping in to your boiled eggs, be cautious to keep your shells in tact and be careful not to break them. You can use these shells to make cress heads, and believe me when I say they’re great fun to make! It’s a perfect DIY to do with the little ones during lockdown, and also very rewarding to watching them grow.
You will need:
- Egg shells
- Potting soil
- Cress seeds
- Googly eyes
- Black/Red pen
- Glue

You can dress up/dress down your egg heads however you wish! I tied some twine around a couple of mine as if it was hair. I also added red lips to the two that are female. Keep them in the original egg box, or pop them in to egg cups to display them proudly.
Make them smile, or give them a funny expression. The options are endless!
Enjoy! Don’t forget to give them a hair cut after a few days! Their hair is very tasty in a sandwich with some egg mayonnaise!
I’ve been holding a poll on this post over on my Instagram account on what I should name them… I’d love to know your thoughts!
