My tassel towel tutorial has gone down a storm on Instagram! I didn’t quite expect it to get such a huge reaction, but it seems as though tassel towels are a popular choice! Alas, I’m following it up with a blog post.
This idea was inspired by my visit to Marrakech in 2018. The lovely Riad we stayed in had towels with tassels sewn on to them. When I asked the owner where he got them from, he explained that him mum had made them especially for his Riad to WOW his guests… And that they did!
Ever since then I have been daydreaming of tassel towels, so I decided to make some for myself. They’re easy and fun to do, and they make for a perfect gift.

YOU WILL NEED
- Towels
- Different coloured cotton
- Scissors (embroidery & craft if you have them)
- Piece of card
- Needle

I made a selection of these towels in different colours, and gave some as a gift to my Mum for her birthday. Needless to say she absolutely loved them.
