Make & Create: Missing Sock Holder
‘Yooo Hoooo! Darn little odd socks hiding in the washing basket, I have a surprise for youuu!’
My latest crafty make is proving once again, to be a handy little life hack to make the daunting chore of LAUNDRY thatlittle bit easier for y’all. Gosh I am being so useful recently! Adulting must really be getting to me…
Today I am here to show you how to make this cute hanging canvas board for your odd socks! Little buggers aren’t they? I swear they always keep jumping from one pile of washing to another, so it’s time to put a leash on them I think, cheeky rascals…
All you simply need for this DIY is:
- A small canvas (preferably boarded so it can take the weight)
- Paint of your choice
- Paintbrush
- Wooden clothes pegs
- Wooden letters
- Glue gun/strong adhesive
- Decorative embellishments of your choice (optional)
I found the wooden letters in the craft aisles at The Range, they’re so cool! Alternatively you could stencil/hand write or paint on the lettering.
Begin by painting your board in your chosen colour, 2 coats should be fine, then allow to dry.
Whilst the board is drying, begin painting your wooden letters and pegs. Make sure you put some paper down, things will get rather fiddly and messy!
When everything has dried, position your pegs and letters in place and glue them securely to the board.
I couldn’t let a craft go by without adding some cuteness. I found these buried away in my stash of resins and thought they suited perfectly… Me being a sock cupid and all that…
And it truly is as easy as that! Hang it on your wall near your laundry basket and begin matchmaking those socks!
