How to Make a Bath Shelf
There’s nothing like a nice, long soak in the bath during these cold winter months is there? Why not make your bath-time experience even more luxurious with this idea… I’m going to show you how to make a bath shelf.
I am a huge bath lover. After a long day at work there’s nothing more relaxing than running a tub of hot bubbly water to soothe the achey muscles and help you unwind & relax. I am often treating myself to some self-care; putting on a face mask, and listening to my fave music whilst enjoying a hot soak. I also like to light a candle and dim the lights for the perfect ambiance too!
Bath shelfs are a huge craze at the moment. You often seen them popping up on instagram, nicely styled over a tub full of bubbles and flower petals. I haven’t quite gone to that extreme yet, but I have made my own bath shelf because its a darn good, useful thing to have.
I wanted to make mine quite colourful (surprise, surprise!), but this idea can be adapted to however suits your style most. Perhaps different coloured paint or different handles to match your decor…

It really in quite a simple DIY and you can find that out for yourself with my quick video tutorial below. It’s also a fantastic way to use up any scrap of wood you may have lying around – I repurposed an old shelf that was originally in my utility room. I didn’t want it going to waste so gave it a new lease of life!
To make a bath shelf, you will need:

Not only do bath shelves give you a better bath time experience, they also provide an extra surface space to show off some of your favourite smellies.
You can light a nice candle, prop up a book or your phone/tablet , use it as a worktop whilst applying a nice body scrub or face mask and of course – it’s the perfect surface to prop up a glass of fizz!
It really is a game changer, and it adds a nice pop of colour and makes for the perfect statement piece in your bathroom decor. Thank me later… Enjoy!
