I can honestly say, with my hand on my heart, that Royal Mansour genuinely left me a bit speechless. It is STUNNING. (hence the name of this post!)
Even though I didn’t actually stay at the hotel itself, I enjoyed a traditional hammam treatment at their spa and spent some time exploring the grounds afterwards, and honestly? I’m so glad I did! Even just walking through the hotel for a few hours felt like experiencing one of the most visually breathtaking spaces I visited during my entire trip to Marrakech.
And trust me, that’s saying something in a city like this!

What makes Royal Mansour so beautiful
Marrakech is already overflowing with beautiful interiors , but Royal Mansour somehow takes everything the city does so well and elevates it to another level entirely… It’s hard to explain until you’ve seen it for yourself but, it’s really special.
The hotel was commissioned by King Mohammed VI of Morocco, and you can really feel a huge level of detail and craftsmanship in every single corner. Nothing feels rushed or designed purely for Instagram. Instead, everything feels deeply rooted in Moroccan artistry and tradition.
From the moment you walk through the entrance, there’s this overwhelming sense of calm. And you’re instantly greeted by huge terracotta walls with mint green doors. So many mint green doors!

Everywhere you turn there is detailed carved plaster ceilings, intricate zellige tiling and hand-painted woodwork, as well as HUGE ornate archways that make you feel somewhat tiny… It was a real Alice in Wonderland moment for me as it had this surreal way of warping my perspective on how big (or small) I actually was whilst walking around the grounds.
It’s wihtout a doubt one of those places where your eyes genuinely don’t know where to look first.

Inside the spa At Royal Mansour
The spa at Royal Mansour deserves its own section entirely because honestly, it may be one of the most beautiful spa spaces I’ve ever stepped inside.
Even before my treatment had started, I already felt relaxed just being in the building itself. The entire spa is flooded with soft natural light, with the most delicate white wrought iron details that stretch around the entire lobby. Whilst I waited for my treatment I was mesmerised by it all as the architecture almost feels dreamlike.
Everything is bright, airy and incredibly peaceful, which creates such a contrast to the busy energy of the Medina outside and there’s this real sense of stillness throughout the space that immediately makes you slow down.

I booked in for a traditional hammam treatment, which was a no-brainer as I wanted the true Moroccan experience. You have to atleast once experience a proper hammam whilst visiting Marrakech!
Now believe me, I’ve had my fair share of hammam and not all have been great (ha!), but at Royal Mansour… it was incredible.
The treatment itself was deeply relaxing, we were bathed and scrubbed and rubbed and washed but what really stayed with me afterwards was the atmosphere of the spa as a whole. Every room feels beautifully considered in both the treatment rooms and relaxation rooms. It’s safe to say I did NOT want to leave.

Exploring the hotel in Royal Mansour
After my spa treatment, I spent some more time wandering through the grounds of the hotel and I genuinely think that ended up being one of my favourite parts of the experience.
I ‘snuck’ into the main hotel lobby to catch a glimpse of the interiors and wow, I think the photo below (far left) speaks for itself.
I also ventured to the hotel pool where I was (luckily) allowed to stay and unwind for a while. The arched cast iron roof was everything.

Exploring the grounds & Riads in Royal Mansour
Royal Mansour is made up of individual riads rather than traditional hotel rooms, which makes the whole place feel much more intimate and peaceful despite its size, it’s like it’s in it’s own little world of it’s own… and I loved that! Walking through the grounds almost feels like wandering through a hidden medina within the city itself.
Every pathway seems to lead to another beautiful courtyard or fountain… There’s also hidden doorways that you can walk through and tucked-away seating areas filled with palms and greenery. It really is so surreal.
I also loved how immersive the whole experience felt. Rather than simply admiring the interiors from afar, you feel completely surrounded by them the entire time. Every corridor, courtyard and archway feels like part of the experience itself.
And naturally, I took far too many photos of tiled floors and doorways whilst exploring.

Final thoughts on Royal Mansour…
Now obviously staying at Royal Mansour is a huge bucket-list experience for many people visiting Marrakech, and I absolutely think it’s worth experiencing in some way, even if staying overnight isn’t within budget.
Booking a spa treatment or a lunch/dinner gives you the opportunity to properly experience the interiors and atmosphere of the hotel without needing to stay there.
And for anyone like me, who travels largely for beautiful spaces and inspiring interiors, that alone made it completely worthwhile!
Royal Mansour isn’t just visually stunning. It’s one of those rare places that genuinely makes you feel something whilst you’re there… So if you’re visiting Marrakech and love beautifully designed spaces as much as I do, I honestly think experiencing Royal Mansour in some way is a must.
